Literacy Program Presentation

Instructions:

  • Create a presentation for parents, families, and community members using PPT, Prezi, or other software or media. Address the following in your presentation:
    • Why reading is critical to students’ success in school and in life
    • Your big goals for students’ literacy learning and achievement
    • Components of your literacy program
    • Your focus on increasing students’ motivation and their perceived value of reading
    • Texts and materials, including digital resources
    • How you organize and manage your literacy program
    • How families and community members can participate and support
    • How you will keep families and community members informed about students’ learning and about activities related to your literacy program
  • Identify the targeted audience and a venue for your presentation. You are encouraged to make your presentation to your selected audience. However, this is not a requirement for completing this assessment.
  • Be creative. Incorporate visuals, humor, interactive activities, demonstrations, videos, sample student work, etc., as desired to make the information meaningful and relevant for your audience.

Be sure to read all readings, explore all websites, and view all videos before you begin working on this Assessment.

 

Save this Assessment as “LiteracyProgramPresentation_firstinitiallastname.doc” and submit it to the Gradebook by the end of Week 7.

 Once you have completed all of the Assessments, you have completed the course.
