Component Teams

Successful implementation of Success for All programs is a schoolwide effort. For best results, attention to classroom start-up and use of the curriculum and materials has to be integrated with peer support and group commitment. To help establish a system of teacher collaboration and support, coaches work with schools to establish component teams.

The most successful schools and teachers do more than have meetings or solve immediate problems together; they organize themselves and their resources to make a lasting impact through component teams. As schools become more familiar with Success for All, their focus will shift from logistics and lesson structure to student progress. Component teams will become more goal and data driven, and student outcomes and data will dictate the topics for further teacher discussion and study.

The first step to building a teacher component team is committing to the time to work together. Setting a meeting schedule is essential. SFAF materials and resources, including telephone and onsite time with your SFAF point coach, are designed to support your school’s implementation and ongoing learning through component teams.

For coaches or team leaders who would like to create their own agenda topics, the following Component Team Agenda templates can be used. The are two templates that can be used for creating Component Team Agendas, a form template and print only template, both of which can be downloaded and saved to your computer.

Component Team Agenda - Print only template

Component Team Agenda - Form template

The form template is compatible with MAC and PC with Adobe Reader 7 or later. When you type in the text field in Reader, it will not immediately expand (and will show a scrollbar). This is a limitation feature of Reader. However, after you tab or click off of the field, Reader will redraw the form and the text box will expand properly. If you stay within the boxes as currently sized, the agenda will remain on one page. If you have a lot of information in the boxes, the document will expand to multiple pages.

Success for All provides resources that contain sample topics and agendas to help guide discussion and further learning during the first year of implementation. Click the My Dashboard (located in he right corner of this page) for component team meeting agendas designed specifically to support your implementation of PowerTeaching.
