Required Readings
Your readings this week are very simple – you have one chapter from your textbook, one podcast on Chapter 4, and one podcast on Multicultural assessments. They are all centered around your understanding and ease with not only understanding assessment scores, but relaying that information to the consumer.
Please complete the readings and listen to the podcasts listed below:

Textbook: Assessment Procedures, Chapter 4 “Understanding Assessment Scores”- As you read through this chapter, keep in mind the population that you will be working with, and try to see, in your “mind’s eye”, how you will present the assessment scores to your clients. What questions might they ask? How will you explain the terminology and concepts in lay terms? As you read – remember the purpose for which you read this chapter – it is all about taking care of your clients and/or your students and their families.

Podcast: A Very Short Review of Norm-Referenced and Criterion Referenced Scores- In this podcast, why Chapter 4, Understanding Assessment Scores, is so important to you and your clients is explained.
- Podcast: Multicultural Assessments- This podcast covers pages 332-340 of your textbook and is focused on a working definition of disability and the standards for assessing individuals with disabling conditions.
