Area Discussion
The Present Level of Educational Achievement and Functional Performance page has a different format for a Preschool aged student than for the School aged student. It contains the following three questions:
1. Where does the child spend time? The following options that can be selected: Child care center, Child’s home, Early Head Start/Head Start, Family Child Care, Family Support Center, Home of family member, Judy Center, Library, Parent’s place of employment, Parks and Recreation program or activities, Preschool playgroup, Private Pre-K/Nursery school, Public Pre-K program, Religious Setting, Shelter, and Other.
2. What are the parents concerns and priorities regarding their preschool child’s educational and functional performance?
3. How does the child’s disability affect his/her access to and participation in age appropriate activities?
Completing Area Discussion Section
1. Select Area Discussion from the IEP Table of Contents or from the navigation drop-down list in the section title located on each of the IEP pages.
2. Click on the Preschool Aged radio button.
3. Complete Area Discussion form indicating where the child spends time and responses to the two additional questions.
4. Click the Save button.
