Review the Picture Gallery below. Think about the type of classroom each one portrays. Is it a conventional classroom organization with a teacher-centered focus? Does there appear to be group work with active engagement of students? What is the climate of the setting—calm and positive or chaotic and disorderly? Are students or teachers using technology? Also, as you scan the pictures, think about how the teacher might be delivering instruction or how the teacher might be managing conflicts in these particular settings?

As you complete the upcoming activities in this module, reflect on how an online coach would determine the context of the teaching and learning setting of the teacher being coached.
