From the content area unit that you are currently working on, select a week of instruction that will occur during Weeks 5–7 of this course. To complete this Weekly Overview, you will plan content literacy instruction for that week and implement one of the lessons from that week of instruction. |
- Review your Long-Term Plan for your literacy curriculum to make sure you are on schedule with your literacy instruction. Make any necessary adjustments.
- Review your Unit Plan for the literacy unit you will be working on in the next several weeks. From this unit, select a week of instruction that will occur during Weeks 5–7 of this course. (To complete this Weekly Overview, you will plan literacy instruction for that week and implement two lessons from that week’s instruction.)
- Reflect on and revisit the readings, websites, and videos for this course and consider how you might incorporate the instructional approaches and strategies into the lessons and activities you will plan for the week you selected.
- Using the Weekly Overview Template (provided in the Handouts box), map out your literacy instruction for the week you selected. Complete the template as instructed.
Be sure to read all readings, explore all websites, and view all videos before you begin working on this Assessment.
Save this Assessment as “WeeklyOverview_firstinitiallastname.doc” and submit it to the Gradebook by the end of Week 4.
