Who Participates in the Evaluation and Assessment?
Evaluation and assessment personnel should be qualified, interested, experienced, and trained in the assessment of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The following people typically participate in evaluation and assessment:
- Child
- Parent/guardian
- Service coordinator
- Service provider
- Anyone parents request to be present
The following additional personnel may participate as necessary or indicated:
- Nurse
- Psychologist
- Speech, language, and hearing specialist
- Occupational and/or physical therapist
- Adaptive physical education teacher
- Teacher of children who are visually impaired, deaf, or hard of hearing
- Orientation and mobility specialist
- Assistive technology specialist
- Interpreter or translator
- Childcare provider and/or preschool teacher
