Wikis
A wiki is a collaborative website which allows users to add, modify, or delete content. Wikis allow multiple users to work on a single document. In online courses, teams find using wikis especially helpful when completing collaborative team activities. For example, a wiki eliminates the need for emailing multiple iterations of a document. Some wiki tools also have comment features (PB Works) or discussion boards (Wikispaces).
Students can also set up wikis as a stand-alone website. Each wiki tool has a slightly different navigation, and some are more customizable than others. Two commonly used free wiki tools are Wikispaces and PBWorks. WetPaint in Education is also a fairly common wiki.
