Screencast Tutorials

The Interactives tutorial provides an overview of how to use the four interactives available to you to embed in your course.

Interactives

Interactives offer dynamic solutions to create interactive, multimedia-rich teaching resources within course pages. These interactives can be used or embedded on any content page.  There are four Interactives available for you to use in your course.

Each interactive is briefly described below.

  • Poll- Immediately receive results or feedback on topics or questions by having students vote for specific responses. Example- Students in a Curriculum Development course took a poll about their experience with Common Core Standards.

  • Image Overlay- You can include "hotspots" on any image that links to pages in your course site or other resources. See example below.

  • Multiple Choice- Questions embedded on course pages allow users to check for understanding and receive immediate feedback on non-graded activities.

  • Case Studies- Set up interactive slides in the form of a linear story, case study or scenario you create using text and media. See example below.

Sample Image Overlay

The image below illustrates how the image overlay interactive works.  Note, only three links are provided on the Web 2.0 image below. Roll over the image to find the hotspots.

Sample Case Study (from School Law course)

The first liability case study you will tackle focuses on negligence.  Read the case study. As you read it, consider whether you think the student will prevail in the lawsuit against the school system for negligence.  After reviewing the case study you will engage in a discussion about who you think will prevail and why.
