My User Dashboard
Your Dashboard is what you will see when you first log into the ELC. By default, you will be on your Updates page. On the Updates page you will see a list of all the activities posted in each of your course sites. You may go directly to the new content added by clicking on the link.
Important Note: In the context of the Updates feature, new content refers only to community tools in your course site, such as comments posted to an announcement, or discussion postings.
In order to toggle between courses, you will need to use the User Dashboard.
Additional Features
Email Subscriptions- This feature allows you to see all the email subscriptions you have signed up to receive for each of your courses. Email subscriptions are available for announcement blogs, discussion boards, and resource pages. In order to subscribe to an announcement blog, discussion board, or resource page, you must check the envelope icon within the appropriate section.
My Buddies- You can become buddies with other members of your community and monitor whether they are online or offline. In order to add someone to your “Buddy List”, you must first find their name in a course site. The easiest way to do this is to go to a discussion forum, and find a post the person made. You might also find their name in your Updates list.
My Profile (located under My Buddies)- It's nice for instructors and classmates to put a face with a name and it helps to build a sense of community. Please be sure to upload a photo to the ELC and provide some information about yourself so other members of the community can get to know a bit about you at a quick glance. Your Profile will include your JHU email address.
Statistics- This dynamic tool allows you to pull data to monitor student participation. Refer to the Statistics Tool section for details.
