Presentation

In this presentation, you will be able to identify the following information for the Transition section of the IEP:

1. What areas comprise a student’s transition goals?

2. What information will I need to review before writing the transition goals?

3. Where can I find the Maryland Transition Planning guide so I can use it as a resource?

As you view the presentation and begin to write out the transition goals for a child, think about:

  • Are there measureable postsecondary goals in the area of education and/or training and employment?
  • Are there annual IEP goals that reasonably enable the child to meet the postsecondary goals or make progress toward meeting the goal(s)?
  • Are the postsecondary goals based on age-appropriate transition assessments?
  • Will the goal(s) occur after the student graduates from school?
