Team-Based Cycle of Instruction (Part 1): Key Elements and Shared Roles
This Online Learning Event introduces the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction (TBCI)—a framework designed to maximize instructional time and support a clear division of responsibilities between the special and general educator. Boundless Learning Co-Teaching uses the TBCI as a foundation for instructional planning and delivery. This OLE begins with an overview of the TBCI with a focus on the first two stages, SET-Up and Presentation. The next OLE focuses on the remaining four stages and includes additional resources for implementation.
The competencies teachers will meet are:
- Competency III: Understand the purpose and key elements of each stage of the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.
- Competency IV: Identify clear roles and responsibilities for co-teachers within each stage of the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.
The specific objectives for this OLE are:
- F2.1 Describe the purpose and benefits of the TBCI.
- F2.2 Identify the stages of the TBCI.
- F2.3 Examine roles for the SET-Up and Presentation stages of theTBCI.
- F2.4 Complete the Co-Teaching Role Protocol for the SET-Up and Presentation stages of theTBCI.
