Building Foundations for 21st Century Co-teaching

Boundless Learning co-teachers develop the ability to articulate ideas clearly, work productively within diverse teams, employ strategies to attain common goals, and take responsibility for completing tasks collaboratively. These high performance co-teaching teams build a distinctive professional partnership that merge the highest quality attributes and skills of general and special education teachers. Through this Online Learning Event (OLE), you gain an understanding of ways to build your own high performing co-teaching teams.


The competencies you will meet are:

  • Competency 1: Employ high performance teaming principles routinely within the co-teaching partnership.
  • Competency 2: Use the UNITED Protocol to establish a high performing co-teaching team.

The specific objectives of this Online Learning Event are:

F1.1 Describe the six core high performing teaming principles.
F1.2 Apply the six core high performance teaming principles.
F1.3 Reflect and assess quality of work in relation to high performance teaming principles.
F1.4 Use the UNITED Protocol to build a partnership in which co-teachers:

  • Unveil beliefs, vision, mission
  • Name operating standards
  • Identify high performing teaming principles
  • Target goals and roles
  • Establish team identity
  • Determine logistics for working together
