Team-Based Cycle of Instruction (Part 1): Key Elements and Shared Roles 

 

This Online Learning Event introduces the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction (TBCI)—a framework designed to maximize instructional time and support a clear division of responsibilities between the special and general educator. Boundless Learning Co-Teaching uses the TBCI as a foundation for instructional planning and delivery. This Online Learning Event begins with an overview of the TBCI with a focus on the first two stages, Set Up and Presentation. The next Online Learning Event focuses on the remaining four stages and includes additional resources for implementation.

 

The competencies you will meet are:

  • Competency 3: Understand the purpose and key elements of each stage of the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.
  • Competency 4: Identify clear roles and responsibilities for co-teachers within each stage of the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.

The specific objectives for this Online Learning Event are:
F2.1 Describe the purpose and benefits of the TBCI.
F2.2 Identify the stages of the TBCI.
F2.3 Examine roles for the following TBCI stages:

  • Set Up
  • Presentation

F2.4 Complete the Co-Teaching Role Protocol for:

  • Set Up
  • Presentation
