Competencies


 

The Johns Hopkins University Boundless Learning Co-Teaching Program is designed to build your competence in these areas by the end of the complete program. Notice that the competencies are divided according to overarching topics, Fundamentals and Step Up, Accelerate. Learn more about these topics by clicking the navigation tabs to the left.

 

BOUNDLESS LEARNING CO-TEACHING: FUNDAMENTALS

Competency 1: Employ high performance teaming principles routinely within the co-teaching partnership.

Competency 2: Use the UNITED Protocol to establish a high performing co-teaching team.

Competency 3: Understand the purpose and key elements of each stage of the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.

Competency 4: Identify clear roles and responsibilities for co-teachers within each stage of the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.

Competency 5: Implement the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction with technology on a routine basis

Competency 6: Apply primary co-teaching models effectively within the Team-Based Cycle of Instruction.

Competency 7: Access information and resources frequently from the Boundless Learning Co-teaching Online Learning Community.

 

BOUNDLESS LEARNING CO-TEACHING: STEP UP, ACCELERATE

Competency 8: Use the Student Compass planning tool to organize and monitor accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional/behavioral strategies that support students with special needs.

Competency 9: Monitor student progress frequently using “real time” data to accelerate learning among all students.

Competency 10: Use the T.E.A.M.S. meeting protocol routinely to guide instructional planning.

Competency 11: Build capacity among teachers and school leaders to sustain and expand Boundless Learning Co-teaching.

Competency 12: Contribute information and resources frequently to the Boundless Learning Co-teaching Online Learning Community.
