The Brain and Learning: Getting Started

In order for any research, especially current brain research, to become readily accessible to teachers, fragmented initiatives must be integrated into a cohesive model of instruction. Brain-Targeted Teaching® is designed to meet this need.

You may have come across “fragmented initiatives” in your school or in professional literature. These “brain-based” educational programs often oversimplify or misinterpret the research coming out of neuroscience and into education. This course introduces the Brain-Targeted Teaching Model®, which organizes instructional strategies according to six “brain-targets” to help you to create an emotional climate and physical environment more conducive to learning, and to teach in ways that will make learning more memorable and meaningful for every student.
