When the U.S. Congress wrote the nation’s special education law, the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (1975), one of the crucial statements was that “disability is a natural part of the human experience...” This became the foundational premise to secure the right to an education for children with special needs. Given that the majority of disabilities are related to learning, it is imperative that special educators develop a set of approaches and strategies that will help their students achieve academic success. These approaches and strategies are necessary to master to become a transformational teacher. They will also assure students reach your vision and goals.
