The 21st century has brought a global technological revolution to society, the workplace, and education. Students must be prepared to live and work in a world geared toward creative and innovative thinking. All students, but especially those from low-income communities, need you to provide experience involving higher-order thinking, problem-solving skills, connecting knowledge to real-world applications, and understanding content at deeper levels, so that they may successfully compete with their more advantaged peers.
This week, you will explore Brain-Target Five: Teaching for the Extension and Application of Knowledge, and Brain-Target Six: Evaluating Learning. Both targets involve authentic learning experiences and assessments that promote creativity, innovation, and 21st-century skills. |
