In the 1980s TV series The A-Team, team leader Colonel Smith often remarked, "I love it when a plan comes together.” That’s what will happen this week. Your work to provide supports for a student’s behavior disorders will come together as a Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP). You will merge your investigation of a student, which resulted in a functional behavioral analysis, to your study and selection of possible interventions. Based on what behaviors you want to change and how you intend to accomplish it, your BIP is the culmination of the assessment process.
This week you will develop and write a student’s BIP, integrating the behavioral goals from the IEP, implementation steps, prevention strategies, and replacement skills—all designed to actualize the vision you and the family have for the student. |
