Functional Behavioral Analysis
In order to determine the underlying causes of misbehavior, special educators and the IEP team are required to conduct a functional behavioral analysis (FBA). The purpose is to meet a child’s needs in a more appropriate manner. For this Assessment, you will complete an FBA for a student in your class. You will work through a step-by-step process that includes identifying a behavior, collecting data, and building a hypothesis.
 

Instructions

  • Use the Functional Behavioral Analysis Handout as a guide to write an FBA for one of your students.
     
  • You will have 2 weeks to conduct and submit your Assessment to the Gradebook.

Save this Assessment as “FunctionalBehavioralAnalysis_firstinitiallastname.doc” and submit it to the Gradebook by the end of Week 3.
