Learning Together

These activities give your team an opportunity to explore the Instructional Strategies Bank and apply your new understandings of the Student Compass/ClassView.  The directions below guide you and your co-teacher(s) to complete a sample Student Compass/ClassView based on a case study scenario.


Directions:

Part 1
1) Prepare for the activity by downloading:

2) As a team, read the Case Study:Brian. Explore the Instructional Strategies Bank and select 1-3 additional tools or techniques you think may support Brian during instruction based on his case study and Snapshot IEP information.

 

3) Turn to the co-teaching team next to you. Share the 1-3 tools or techniques your team selected and the rationale for your selections.

 

4) As a co-teaching team, enter Brian's IEP accommodations and the tools and techniques your team selected for Brian in the ClassView spreadsheet.

 

5) Follow the same process to enter the information on the ClassView spreadsheet for students included in the Case Studies and IEP Snapshot document ( Frederick, Kenny, Michelle, and Peter).

 


 Part 2

1) Download an additional copy of the Student Compass/ClassView template.  Use the Instructional Strategies Bank and your students' IEPs to complete Student Compass/ClassView for the students in your class(es). Be sure to save your document and print it for use during lesson planning.

  • Make sure a copy of your Student Compass/ClassView is available for your school administrators to review.
