Because it’s not possible to address every ELL teaching context and instructional need in any one course or module,, the aim of the previous 4 weeks has been to help you learn to ask questions and develop an analytical mindset when deciding what and how to teach grammar to your students. By engaging in a continuous process of assessing your students’ proficiencies and determining what kinds of language structures they’ll need to understand and produce in their schoolwork, you will plan instruction that is rich, rigorous, and accessible for your English learners, which is critical to reaching your vision and goals.
This week you will focus on learning concrete teaching strategies that will allow you to synthesize your previous analyses into a lesson plan tailored for your students and their current language learning profiles. The readings provide samples and ideas to help you create your lesson.
